What to expect
Unpaved track with variable surface — loose gravel, packed earth and possibly rocky sections. Expect noticeable gradient and elevation changes that justify the challenging rating. The trail may be shaded in sections by karri and jarrah forest, but open areas will be exposed. Signposting should guide you, though attention to markers is important on rougher terrain.
Good to know
- Open to cyclists
Bring plenty of water and sun protection. A mountain or hybrid bike with good tread is essential for unpaved, challenging terrain. Avoid summer months when bushfire risk is high and heat makes off-road riding harder. Spring wildflowers brighten the landscape. Check local conditions before riding, as wet weather can make unpaved tracks slippery and difficult.
