- Quick walk suitable for families
- Arid Pilbara landscape
What to expect
Well-maintained gravel underfoot with minimal elevation gain—the trail follows the rim at a steady, gentle grade. You'll have open exposure to the sky and gorge views; shade is limited. The path is clearly marked and straightforward, making navigation simple. Expect red earth, spinifex and low scrub typical of Pilbara country.
Good to know
Carry plenty of water; the Pilbara is dry and hot, especially October to April. Wear sturdy walking shoes with good grip. Summer months (Dec–Feb) bring intense heat and bushfire risk—autumn and winter are more comfortable. Start early to avoid midday heat. No dogs in national parks.
