Highlights
- Red gorge walls and layered geology
- Short, accessible Pilbara walk
- Cool water presence in the gorge
- Excellent for families and quick visits
What to expect
Unpaved track descending into the gorge with gentle to moderate gradient underfoot. Red earth, loose rocks and some uneven sections are typical. The gorge narrows as you descend, offering increasing shade from gorge walls and sparse vegetation. Track is generally well-defined; watch for loose footing on steeper sections.
Good to know
Carry plenty of water—the Pilbara is hot and exposed, especially in summer. Wear sturdy walking boots or shoes with good grip for rocky terrain. Best visited April to September; avoid mid-summer heat and bushfire season. The walk is short enough for a midday outing if you start early.
